FluidTek have portable onsite particulate cleanliness testing units. These units can provide immediate reports with ISO/NAS/SAE standards with extremely accurate results. This ensures that our clients know the exact state of their fuels with comparisons provided against Global & SNI standards.

This information allows us to provide targeted guidance on particulate contamination mitigation strategies to get the fuel back to being ready for safe & reliable use.

Water RH % & ppm Test ​​

Quantifies the the amount of water (moisture) as a % of the totally saturated state of the fuel as well as we can provide ppm or total % of water. This is important with the introduction of biodiesel blends, as this water content results in accelerated levels of microbial contamination. This causes sludge to become present in the tank bottom.

Microbial Growth Count ​​

Microbial growth is one of the greatest contamination challenges for stored diesel & biodiesel blends. FluidTek have on site & real time microbial growth testing systems. Not only do these tests provide normal traffic light indication of microbe infestation, they also provide absolute count. This provides understanding of relative traffic light position as well as trending information. Understanding the microbial level present in fuels (especially biodiesel blends) allows us to work with our clients to develop cost effective strategies to reduce or completely remove this serious fuel cleanliness threat.

FluidTek supply Koehler ATEX II class rate fuel sampling kits. These kits allow sampling at any level of the tank with complete safety & ease of use.

Water Content Testing Paste ​

Testing fuels, particularly newly supplied fuels, for water content is an extremely important component of a contamination mitigation. Water is the primary catalyst for microbial growth in diesel fuel & it must be very carefully monitored & controlled. FluidTek provides Kolor Kut Modified (biodiesel suitable) dip paste.

FAME Content Testing Kits ​

FluidTek supply FAME content on site & real time testing kits to allow you to test your fuels to quantify the amount of biodiesel blended with diesel fuel. This easy-to-use test method converts methyl esters in biodiesel blends in free fatty acids then titrates the resulting acids.

The kits are available in 3 different test ranges of 0 – 10%, 0 – 20%, and up to 60%. The kits are designed so that a technician with minimum training can efficiently & accurately run the test.

IPU Fuel Polishing Systems ​

Fuel systems are custom designed modular fixed skid mounted fuel polishing units comprising of specific pumps and filtration units to remove solid particulate through depth filtration and water via absorption filters. Typical housings will carry up to 8 filtration elements providing very high flow rates from 3,000 l/min (180,000 l/h) to 24,000 l/min (1,080,000 l/h). The are suitable for both single pass high flow floating vessel offloading as well as can be provided with high flow pumps to switch to recirculation mode for continuous polishing of very large fuel tanks.

The systems come with an option for very cost effective sock type filter elements that are suitable for either particulate in many micron levels or water absorption. Options for stainless steel mesh filters that can be removed & cleaned. Systems can be provided with guaranteed fuel cleanliness contamination levels & will keep your OPEX to a minimum.

PureBlue RCS Mini Skid ​

Contamination with diesel in remote sites or stored for long periods is a serious challenge in Indonesia. This has been made much worse with the introduction of biodiesel, which absorbs significant amounts of water causing extremely fast microbial infestation (diesel bug) resulting in particulate contamination (sludge). To get this fuel back to where it can be safely used, you cannot just filter it for particulate only. FluidTek have custom designed the PureBlue range of Recirculation Conditioning Systems (RCS) for challenging Indonesian conditions, to get the absolute best performance from B30 biodiesel (or even higher % blends) with extraordinarily low operating costs.

FUEL TREATMENT PROCESSES!

Stage 1 – Fuel Purifiers (water separators) – RCI (US built & patented) FP units remove over 90% free water & up to 80% particulate via mechanical coalescing & centrifugal processes. Drastically reducing water (less microbes) & filter use (less particulate) – no OPEX!

Stage 2 – PureBlue – Dual Step Particulate Filtration – Custom designed extremely cost effective high capacity sock & other type filter housings combining strength, simplicity & reliability. Pressure differential gauge (level of blockage) indication.

Stage 3 – PFM Blue Treatment

Using photochemistry, PFM units kill & break down microbial growth so resultant particles can then pass through a 1 μm filter. Designed, patented & built in New Zealand.

Recirculation – Typical fuel treatment systems are only single pass. PureBlue RCS continually recirculates fuel in tanks to ensure they are clean, dry & microbial growth free & do not suffer from layering out of the biodiesel from the diesel. The system is completely independent & unlike inline filtration, does not slow down the fuel delivery in any way.

PureBlue RCS Custom Systems ​

The same complete 4 Fuel Treatment Processes in the PureBlue RCS mini skids, but custom designed for larger high-flow in-line applications or larger tank sizes. These units have 3 phase electric pumps and are modular in design, allowing multiple combinations of flow or throughput. They can have the pump unit taken out of circuit to use the pump on a fuel delivery vessel & then have the pump brought back on line to recirculate continuously or via a programmable timer. Like the PureBlue RCS mini skids, one system can be used for multiple tanks though pipework switching systems.

PureBlue Fuel Polishing Carts ​

FluidTek has designed & build PureBlue Fuel Polishing Cart in Indonesia to suit our challenging fuel quality issues. The PureBlue fuel polishing cart is strong, simple, with 2 high flow options & 1 or 2 filter housing options. They use a choice of custom PureBlue particulate filters that are effective, yet extremely low in cost, saving operational expenses. A wide range of different micron sizes & Filtasorb2 water removal filters (up to 6 litre water retention) to properly dry fuel, to stop fuel system damage & prevent microbial growth.

The PureBlue EM-FCM is a downsized version of our larger recirculating conditioning systems that can readily be installed directly on diesel powered plant & equipment, such as gensets, excavators, on or off highway haul trucks when the fuel being used has quality issues. This is for situations where storage tank treatment to supply equipment is not possible & keeping the fuel clean, dry & microbial growth free is essential. Fuel Storage Tank Breathers ​

Fuel storage tanks typically have breathers that open directly to the air. As the fuel level goes down, the tank breather is moist are. Moisture condenses on tank wall & drops into the fuel. This radically increase microbial growth contamination. FluidTek provides & supports a range of tank breathers that filter out the moisture of air entering tanks. These filters also remove particulate.

PureBlue Marine RCS ​

PureBlue Marine High Speed Diesel RCS units are designed specifically for the demanding conditions with marine operations. They have the same 4 Fuel Treatment Processes of our other PureBlue recirculating & conditioning systems (RCS) to ensure that the fuel is clean, dry & microbial growth free to maximise propulsion & genset engine reliability. They are built in modular sections with this design suited for a very limited footprint in engine rooms & can be mounted on a wall/bulkhead/tank wall as well as each modular section can be separately mounted & joined by hose/pipe where space is very limited. The systems have been carefully designed recognising the marine HSD bunker fuel can be extremely wet & contaminated (high sludge levels) & this can be properly treated by PureBlue Marine RCS products.

PFM MFO Unit ​

This PFM unit has all the benefits of the high speed diesel units, but has been specially designed for use with 180 cSt Marine Fuel Oil (MFO). The system needs to be installed in the last & highest temperature heating stage of fuel directly before engine(s). Given this, the system has its own cooling fan to ensure is stays cool. The unit has a flow path that is oblong & significantly flatter than the standard PFM units to ensure that the LED’s light spread can penetrate the thicker grade fuel. The unit will save fuel, engine maintenance costs as well as reduce engine emissions.
